Some signs I see on shops say they buy old gold jewelry. Is it worth taking the jewelry there? Have you ever done it?
Also, is there a way to retrieve gold or silver from old jewelry to make money?

YES YOU CAN, BUT YOU PROBABLY WON’T GET MUCH.
You could sell it to a shop but I doubt you make much money as they have to then sell it and make their profit. You could try selling it in the local paper or set up a stall at the markets.
Have no idea on retrieving it.
You’ll make less money if you remove the metal because you would lose the stamp and it would have to be melted down to make new jewelery. Just keep it in the best condition and try selling on yourself (ebay etc).
